& Other Stories Rollneck, Tibi Faux fur coat, Tongoro handbag, Francesca Mambrini Shoes.
Winter is here and it’s time to establish our wardrobe essentials. This year I’ve been more careful to consistently wear the pieces that are already in my closet, as I promised myself during my no-spending challenge. I even created a photo album of the pieces that I intend to wear, including (and especially) my collection of statement coats.

I’ve often shared my love for outerwear with you here on ATPB. I truly appreciate all types – capes, trenches, bombers, parkas and the evergreen camel coat, to name a few. One style that I have been particularly enjoying over the past few winters is the faux fur jacket. I found the Acne jacket that I am wearing above at the brand’s outlet store in Stockholm, and I’ve worn it through a security mishap at a runway show where a security wand burned a patch into its plush fabric, through multiple button losses (the belt at the back was hanging on by a string for some time) and finally until it was one wear away from falling apart. That is why I was over the moon when my dear sweet Tibi gifted me their chic oversized wrap coat. This piece is mega-versatile and you will see it make several public appearances on my body over the next few months.
Some winter favorites will be pieces that you wear all year long.
It was hard love when I laid eyes on Kwaidan Editions’ yellow high waist trousers (check out how I style them in High! Waist! Wide! Leg!). And upon opening Matchesfashion’s famed marble box, I knew it wasn’t the crash and burn type of fashion fling, either. The tone of yellow is sensorially perfect. Even though they were created for Spring/Summer, the weight is thick enough to get away with wearing them all year long here in Milan. Throw them on for a bit of sunshine on a grey winter day in your city. Or, how gorgeous do they look during a June sunset, as captured in the image on the right?
As for accessories, I often go for the ones that charm me off my feet. How flirty and candy sweet is this printed croc embossed mini bag by Tongoro Studio? I literally feel like I’m armed with a stash of fairy dust when I carry it – prepared to distribute magic in whichever direction my arms swings. But don’t let my talk of fairy dust confuse you, focus your eyes on my booties. These Francesca Mambrini check booties were designed for serious business. As am I, especially dressed in one of my first deep winter lewks.
