Hey Pretty Birds,
Happy Weekend! It’s been a while since we’ve shared a Tamu’s Cafe video, so we’re super happy to bring you some inspiration for this weekend’s brunch plans. We hope that you love crêpes as much as we do as we’ve selected sweet and savory ones for your brunching pleasure. In this episode, we sit down with the lovely and elegant Sofie Valkiers of the blog Fashionata and discuss the state of blogging and her fabulous new candle line Sanui Antwerp. You’ve seen her here before as one of our street style muses, and now you get a chance to hear her point of view up close and personal. So hit up your local farmer’s market for these tasty ingredients, whip up your own batch of yummy crêpes and please enjoy our conversation.
Sweet and Savory Crêpes
1 ½ cup of flour (Kamut or Spelt)
1 cup of milk
¼ spoon of salt
3 tbl spoon of butter (for the pan)
¼ tbl spoon of nutmeg
In a large mixing bowl whisk together the kamut flour and the eggs. Then gradually add the milk and stir until combined. Add the salt and a pinch of grated nutmeg. Heat a small pan over medium high heat and add a little butter. Pour a scoop of the batter into the pan using approximately ¼ cup for each crepe. Tilt the pan with a circular motion so that the batter coats the surface evenly. Cook the crepe for about 2 minutes, until the bottom is light brown. Loosen with a spatula, turn and cook the other side.
