Parmesan Lollipop

Cooking time: 8 minutes

Ingredients (serves 4)

100 gr Parmesan cheese

1 ts poppy seeds

20 wooden skewers

These crunchy Parmesan lollipops are a great, fun and original idea for your cocktail snacks. With a fast and easy preparation, you can season the lollipops before putting them in the oven, with poppy seeds, chopped-up walnuts or sesame seeds, or after you pop them out of the oven, with some delicate thyme leaves.

— Soak in cold water for half an hour twenty wooden skewers. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Using a round pastry cutter, make small disks with 1 teaspoon of Parmesan for every cutter.

— Place one skewer over every cheese disk: after melting, the cheese will stick to the skewer. Turn on the grill of your oven at 200°C (395°F) and, when the grill is hot, put the baking tray in the oven. Check on the cheese lollipops: it will take them just a few short minutes to melt (about 5 minutes)!

— Take the baking tray out of the oven and leave the lollipops to cool for 5 minutes, until they harden and become crunchy. Serve as an appetizer or cocktail snack, accompanied by a glass of bubbly.
