NYE Snapback: Recovery Facials for the First Days of the Year
Michela Marra | Friday December 29th 2017
The final countdown has begun, and here we are with just a few days of 2017 left. What a busy year it’s been for the ATPB team! Amidst appointments, events, meetings and days spent squinting at our computers, we truly gave it our all (and we promise to do an even better job in 2018).
That’s why we’ve decided to celebrate NYE in the best possible way… indulging! And thanks to our bottomless champagne plans, our skin might be in need of some extra pampering in the days following NYE. Here are 5 facial treatments to try that will bring a surge of energy to your face and help you start 2018 off on the right foot.
To Brighten Up Your Face: The Renewal Oil by La Mer
It stimulates the production of collagen and nourishes skin thanks to Miracle Broth, very rich in nutrients and other pure ingredients and which performs a cell renewal action. Yes, it is very expensive, but it is also multitasking: you can mix it with your foundation to obtain a glowing look or use it on your hair and lips to moisturize them. Our advice: to maximize its benefits, shake well in order to activate ingredients then warm in hands and finally apply to cheeks, under eyes, on the bridge of your nose and on your philtrum with a pinching action.
To Purify and Eliminate Imperfections: Supermud Clearing Treatment by Glam Glow
Blackheads, pimples, acne or imperfections? All of these will become distant memories thanks to this treatment boasting a mix of acids which eliminates impurities and fights enlarged pores. Also, it contains Activated-X Charcoal, an ultra-efficient charcoal that is able to absorb up to 500% its own volume in toxic substances on any skin type, while TEAOXI releases natural eucalyptus, linalool and powerful flavonoids directly within its formula, starting with pieces of eucalyptus leaves.
To Nourish Skin While You Sleep: Clarins Multi-Active Night
We’ve tested it over the last few months, and the effects convinced us immediately: after just one night, skin was immediately smoother and more pleasantly compact. This is thanks to a formula that combines the power of plants to lessen the appearance of fine lines and make your complexion shine.
Homemade Facials: natural solutions to give your face a boost of energy.
Have you ever tried a homemade treatment? There are numerous recipes to experiment with that will moisturize and nourish your skin. Our favorites are honey-based and aloe vera-based mixtures. The former is super moisturizing, while the latter is soothing and purifying. Here’s how to make them.
Objective Deep Moisturization
Honey has truly enviable cosmetic properties; it can be used to fight imperfections and acne, and honey is obviously an excellent moisturizing ingredient, which is perfect for taking care of dry skin. Honey is also effective in battling wrinkles, especially around the eye and lip contours, which are more prone to developing expression lines. Here’s our recipe:
1 teaspoon of Acacia honey, 1 whole egg, 1 teaspoon of sweet almond oil (which is known for its softening properties). Beat the whole egg with an electric beater and add the almond oil. Once you have a uniform mixture, continue mixing and add honey. At this point it will be possible to apply the cream using a brush, to help better measure and distribute the product. You can store the cream in the fridge, but not for more than 4-5 days.
Aloe Vera Facial
Objective: Eliminate Redness and Wrinkles
Aloe Vera is well known for its anti-inflammatory and anti-wrinkle properties, which soothe skin, moisturize deeply and exert an antibacterial action. We suggest adding a drop or two of Argan and almond oil to the aloe: the texture will be even more pleasant. Just mix 2 teaspoons of aloe vera gel, 10 drops of Argan oil and 10 drops of sweet almond oil until you get a soft, creamy mixture.
If you prefer an excellent recipe against skin spots, we suggest mixing aloe vera gel and a few drops of lemon juice, which has lightening properties.
Happy New Year!
