My Hamptons Essentials by Tamu McPherson
Hey There Pretty Birds,
As many of you know from following me on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook, I’m enjoying my annual family holiday in East Hampton. We’ve been here for two-and-a-half weeks, and I’m at that point where I know exactly which items I can’t live without. I love the process of discovering my essentials, don’t you? Through trial and error, multiple wears, word-of-mouth suggestions and surprise discoveries while waiting for a table at a favorite local brunch spot. How do you choose your essentials? Please let me know in the comments, and find out more about my Hamptons must-haves inside the post!
Here is a list of my East Hampton Essentials.
+ Ç Mira Mikati x Sensi Studio woven toquilla straw tote – My friend Mira Mikati sent me this fun tote just before I left Milan for East Hampton. I knew that it would be a favorite as soon as I pulled it out of the box. Find a similar one here.
I’m always in search of a interesting book and often stock up for my fall reading at Book Hampton here in East Hampton. So far for this trip, I’ve picked “I’ll Give You the Sun” by Jandy Nelson. I was sold by the title. I’ll follow the sun anywhere, so I was naturally moved by it. Write more about when I’m finished reading.
I’ve been a Eres Swimwear devotee for the past few years, stopping by the Milan boutique every Spring to pick up new colors and styles. But this year other gorgeous brands like Mikoh popped onto my radar. I picked up this stunning bikini (and many others) at Everything But Water East Hampton. You can also find it here.
Before this Summer, you never could have convinced me, not in a million years I tell you, that I would one day (two weeks ago) fall in love with a western-style straw hat. But here I am practically sleeping with one – only poolside, they say it’s bad luck to lay a hat on your bed. I also picked up my new friend at Everything But Water. It’s by the San Diego Hat Company. Find it here.
I’ve been living in these over-the-rainbow fantastic sunnies by Marco de Vincenzo. A super sweet friend, he sent them to me as a present for my Summer adventures.
Every Summer, I like to try out a new sunscreen. This season I am using Hampton Sun. I love that it’s oil-free (my skin tends to be on the oily side in the Summer), and that it contains aloe vera which helps relieve sunburn and is an great moisturizer. Find it here.
Finally, what’s chicer that a Missoni beach towel? I found this one while shooting my Fashion Meets Food at La Roca Village. Find a similar one here.
