With every holiday season that approaches, laden with cocktail parties and festive dinners with friends, we all utter the same fictitious statement “I have nothing to wear”. Lucky for you Pretty Birds, Tamu has you covered with her holiday dressing guides, but let’s be honest, that is not our sole dilemma of the season of cheer.
Provocative cocktail party conversation topics are normally lacking, besides the evergreen subjects how much we despise Trump or where we are going for the holidays. Originality seems to be on snooze around this season, but what better way to wake everybody up than with a playful cocktail to serve your guests? You all know how much I love my wine, so only fitting that my recipe for you this week is a Traditional Christmas Sangria.
Feeding people is easy, but if the cocktails are fun and original it really doesn’t matter much what you serve to eat. We tend to get bizarre and creative when it comes to our food recipes, but why should we neglect our drink concoctions. Don’t get me wrong, a good bottle of wine goes a long way, but let’s spice it up a bit with this Festive Sangria.
1 (750 ml) bottle of white wine of your choice
1 (12 ounce) ginger beer
1 ½ cups of apple cider
½ cup of brandy
3 pears sliced
3 oranges sliced
3 cinnamon sticks
Combine all the ingredients in a large pitcher. Stir and place the pitcher in the fridge until chilled. If you are planning to make your sangria more than a few hours before serving wait to add the ginger beer, because if not it will loose its fizz.
