My name is Sumaia, but I mostly go by Sumi -- my parent’s fault, they’ve been calling me that since I can remember -- I’m Italian born and of North African descent. I’m a freelance journalist and my stories focus on fashion, photography, art and also diversity and inclusion, essentially the topics I’m mostly passionate about. Two years ago I took a remark that everyone used to make about me in school and turned it into the name of corner on the internet @coveredinlayers, where I share my take on trends, styling tips but also news and some other “hard talks”, because I like to think we’re all multifaceted and so am I.
