Oscar 2017: Five Beauty Looks We Really Loved by Michela Marra
The stars’ red carpet looks at the Oscars are always in the spotlight. We beauty addicts couldn’t help but notice the best hair and makeup looks. We’ve included them here for you along with some tips on how to recreate the look. Ready? Leave a comment and let us know which looks you preferred.
N°1: Scarlett Johansson
Let’s just be honest: her haircut is FABULOUS. Who wouldn’t want it? Scarlett looks good in any color and any length, but in our opinion this is THE hair cut. Her Elvis tuft really suits her − Charlize Theron’s hairstylist created a similar tuft for her and it’s already a trend. Her makeup was done by Frankie Boyd for NARS Cosmetics, who was inspired by Scarlett’s Alaïa dress; the dress is characterized by shades of pink, magenta and green. The makeup? Essential and sophisticated. To recreate the look all you need is a velvet matte lipstick and a rose gold blush like Orgasm by Nars. The strong point is her gaze that is accentuated by black eyeliner and a very luminous gold eyeshadow applied to the entire mobile lid and the eye’s inner corner.
N°2: Emma Stone
She took home the Best Actress Oscar as well as the prize for best beauty look, intense in her simplicity. Hair and makeup that call out to the 1930s: “I was inspired by Dante Gabriel Rossetti’s romantic paintings,” said Rachel Goodwin, NARS PRO Artistry and Red Carpet Director for North America. For “Red Carpet” red lips use NARS Audacious Collection Mona Audacious Lipstick.
N°3 Halle Berry
Viva natural hair! Curly, voluminous, lively and absolutely original for Halle on the red carpet− Halle Berry’s won us over immediately. If you, too, have curly locks, let your hair air dry and then “hold” it using some extra strong hair spray.
N° 4 Viola Davis
We’ve been fans of Viola Davis since her role in “The Help,” for which she received a Best Actress Oscar nomination. We also love her for her hair look which is characterized by a tuft covering her forehead and brought to life with strokes of copper red. And then, does anyone really want to compete with her smile?
N° 5 Ruth Negga
Ruth has the loveliest dress (a Valentino, in case you had any doubts), but her makeup is also up to par thanks to the shades of red and burgundy that color her eyes and lips. Her beauty look in carmine red was created by Mélanie Inglessis who used one of our favorite palettes for her eyes: Chanel Quadra Eye Shadow in Candeur et Expérience.
