Make Mine Mille Feuille: The Tiered Skirt Is the Only Skirt You Need This Fall
Jessie Ajluni | Wednesday October 25th 2017
As the fanciful Fall dressing of October slowly morphs into the chilly November reality of needing to stay warm, I have to admit that this time of year I tend to fall into a bit of a style rut. With the festive frivolities of December right around the corner and all the excitement that comes with holiday dressing, November seems to be a month of style boredom – the green room before holiday prime time. Perhaps the only downside of being a fashion editor (aside from the constant wishlist:budget imbalance) is by the time that everyone else is gearing up for autumnal dressing I am just feeling OVER IT. I’ve been looking at the latest and greatest from the season since February of last year and reporting on those pieces since August, and I have already decided on everything I need in my closet in March of next year.
So, in desperate need of a little style inspiration, I thought who better to turn to than our Chief Lover here at All The Pretty Birds and infamous street style extraordinaire, Tamu. While going through our latest series of photos for the site I was instantly captivated by this gorgeous Gucci skirt. From its mix of eclectic granny prints to its lovely layers of ruffles, I was instantly hooked.
Tiered skirts, why hadn’t I tried this trend before? Well, on my quest to search out my newest style obsession, I began to realize that I was not alone in this newfound infatuation. It seems that designers everywhere are feeling the love for this frilly fashion, from Erdem to H&M (and Erdem for H&M) and everyone in between. But how to style this admittedly intimidating statement piece? Taking inspo from Tamu once more, I decided simple is best, let this skirt truly shine by pairing a classic tee and our much loved sock boots for the perfect style combo to beat the November blues.
So what do you think of this micro-trend? Are you feeling inspired by Tamu’s look as much as we are? If so check out our complete round up of the best-tiered skirts below.
