Hair, Makeup and Nail Trends: The Best of Fashion Month
Michela Marra | Wednesday March 8th 2017
Fashion Month is over. After having gotten our fill of shows and everything going on backstage, we are ready to wrap things up. As for beauty, two key concepts can be identified: authenticity and imagination, or transparency and color.
Smokey eyes, a timeless classic, have now become lighter, and cloudlike and can take on new colors for a bicolour result.
Eyeliner now adds an elegant touch of color and, why not, you can also pair it with metallic lipsticks in the most unusual colors.
The nude look? It dominated runways in both London and Milan and was the look chosen by makeup artists when the collection’s color palette was very lively. Balance lies in the details.
Manicures are nude when models on runways are wearing items in bold colors. Nails are artistic, echoing and sharing patterns from inspirational collections. The models’ skin is enhanced using hydrating foundations that are light in texture, while blush becomes romantic.
Sculpting is often slight and glowing. And as for hair looks: Vidal Sassoon’s style is more present than ever. Voluminous updos or vintage waves with eccentric twists on the one hand and loose, wavy locks on the other. Femininity was never put in a corner. Braids, crimped hair and sleek finishes are still the protagonists as far as locks goes. The 80s are mixed with a grunge look for girls who are simultaneously rebels and super models.
The message is clear: women are more and more aware and increasingly willing to fight for a better world, an environmentally friendly world that fights for civil rights.
