The subject of this year’s Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute’s fashion exhibit and Met Gala 2017 is the iconic, brilliant, avant–garde and incomparable designer and her brand: Rei Kawakubo & Comme des Garcons. The annual fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute brings out the biggest names in entertainment and fashion and its the red carpet we look forward to seeing the most every year. We love seeing how everyone interprets the theme with their style choices, which was interesting this year as Rei Kawakubo is known for challenging our ideas beauty and whats attractive. Some red carpet looks are all-time favorites and some are a pleasant surprise, check out our gallery of the looks we loved!
If you’re in New York between May 4th and September 4th be sure to check out the exhibit, the show will be the first to focus on a living designer since Yves Saint Laurent in 1983.
