Howdy Pretty Birds,
We’ve been fans of Charlotte Olympia’s clever, bright, cheeky, cheerful, feminine and super flattering shoes ever since we were able to get our feet into a pair of her kitty pumps circa 2012. Since then, a lot of great things have happened for the designer and mother. Her collections have grown to include the ever-covetable Pandora clutches in brilliant options, spot-on holiday themed capsule collections, a range of glamorous Hollywood inspired handbags and most recently, a selection of small leather goods.
Since we’ve also had a girl crush on the stunning designer for as long as we can remember, we couldn’t resist reaching out to her for a 7-lips feature focused on her top picks from her western-themed SS15 collection. Find out what she loves most about SS15 and have a glimpse at what inspires her stellar design aesthetic. xoxo, Tamu
Charlotte Olympia explains her top 7 picks from her SS15 collection:
SPUR OF THE MOMENT
This is a great shoe, with a 100mm heel so you can wear it all day long – it perfectly captures the theme of the collection and the essence of my brand. Beautifully made, feminine and fun. I already have a pair myself.
The cool metallic colour, the fun and surprisingly subtle eagle shaped upper definitely lift my spirits when I put these on – and that’s why I love them.
The Chief of all the shoes – I think this pair speaks for itself. I challenge any woman not to feel empowered with these platforms on.
A Charlotte Olympia classic in an easy to wear wheat colour with added fringing to give it the Wild West touch! This will no doubt become one of the styles I find most on my feet next summer.
This clutch is a testament to the craftsmanship skills of my production team. It is a true work of art – both delicate and beautiful and it works just like a cigarette pack!
DADDY I WANT A PONY
Where would a cowboy be without his trustee steed! I love this over the shoulder bag, it is more of a novelty piece but it reminds that you shouldn’t ever take yourself too seriously.
WORTH IT’S WEIGHT
It is hard not to be drawn to this particular piece… it is just so shiny! The mirrored interior also adds that thoughtful feminine touch that I think is important when catering for women.
