Beauty as I see It by Lakin Ogunbanwo

I’ve found myself drawn to the photography coming out of the continent of Africa for some time now. The images always appear fresh, visceral and the subjects culturally rich, graceful, regal – and when it comes to fashion, urgently stylish. While I’ve traveled to the continent before, my recent trip to Nigeria is the first time that I’ve had the opportunity to work on fashion projects with local photographers. I’ve already shared with you my designer profile photographed by Stephen Tayo, and now I am so thrilled to bring you a project for Carolina Herrera and Bergdorf Goodman photographed by Lakin Ogunbanwo. To accompany his stunningly captured images, he shares these words.
